Midnight Silence

Tonight is not like all other nights,
Tonight the twilight night is silent,
No bird chirp, nor any squirrels,
All that roamed the silent, spectral, shadows,
Are the crepuscular chipmunks.

Tonight is not like all other nights,
Tonight the moon shines over the shimmering sea,
All you can hear for miles are,
Waves waving to the shores,
Animals trundling on the malm forest ground.

Tonight is not like all other nights,
The silver moon,
Does not shine to its brightest,
It’s harrowing nightmare,
Wanzed to a quarter.

Tonight is not like all other nights,
The smell in the air was petrichor,
The mist cooled the trees to their bones,
Tonight is silent,
Not like all other nights.
